Exposição Tempo Profundo "Deep time exhibit"
Objetivo principal
O objetivo deste projeto de crowdfunding é organizar uma exposição científica sobre o tema “Tempo profundo”, a ser realizada no Instituto Principia, em São Paulo.
Main goal
This crowdfunding project aims to make a scientific exposition viable. The exhibit theme is “Deep time”, and the place is São Paulo capital city, Brazil.
Quando?
Estamos trabalhando para viabilizar a exposição entre julho e outubro de 2021.
When?
We want to open the exhibit in July, 2021. It would run for 4 months.
Sobre a exposição
Pretendemos levar o público a perceber quão grande é a escala do tempo profundo, a conhecer algumas das mudanças que ocorreram na história do planeta e da vida, e de que forma essa vida afeta e é afetada por transformações contínuas e recorrentes, algumas lentas, outras, muito rápidas. Com isso os visitantes serão convidados a refletir sobre as mudanças climáticas e as escalas em que estas mudanças ocorrem, observando fósseis, modelos e imagens, interagindo com a exposição.
What about it?
We want the visitors to be enchanted by the immensity of the deep time. We also want to show some relevant facts about the history of life on earth, and of the earth itself! Several changes, slow or very fast ones, have punctuated this history. Climatic changes will be discussed on the basis of fossils, replicas and technological interactions with the exhibit.
Idealizadora
A profa. Dra. Carolina Zabini, paleontóloga e professora pesquisadora do Instituto de Geociências da UNICAMP, é a idealizadora da proposta. Ela e uma equipe formada pelo Museu Exploratório de Ciências da UNICAMP, artistas e pesquisadores, somados à parceria com o Instituto Principia são quem estão organizando a exposição.
Whose idea?
Dr. Carolina Zabini of the Geosciences Institute, UNICAMP (Campinas, São Paulo, Brazil) has idealized the project. Several other people make up the excited team to make this project real. Museu Exploratório de Ciências da UNICAMP, Instituto Principia, and Track comunicações are working together on it.

Pesquisa
A exposição também também está sendo elaborada de forma a funcionar como um laboratório para o desenvolvimento de atividades de pesquisa em ensino de geociências no âmbito do programa de pós-graduação em Ensino e História das Ciências da Terra do IG/UNICAMP.
Is there a Research also?
The exhibit is being elaborated to be fun and very interactive. With the technology involved, we will be capable of knowing how people understand the concepts we want to present, what they know previously and whether they comprehend the things we are showing at the exhibit.
